After wasting my money (and a lot if time because those little 12v compressors take FAR too long to fill a motorhome tire), I bought one of these and love it!

I have had the exact same model for years only it says Craftsman. Works great.

Ha!!! To be honest, the Craftsman is the one I have. I just couldn't find it when I was making my post, so I just used the Porter Cable reference since they're the same thing. In fact, I have two of them - one in the motorhome and one in our garage at home.

Feel free to use my photo whenever you need a Craftsman image. [emoji41]

is this an AC or DC compressor? If DC does it use alligator clips or a cigarette lighter plug?

Some of the compressors I have seen have a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug and the only one of those that I have is in the dash of the Sprinter chassis for my RV and I worry about the voltage drop in a cord long enough to get to the rear tires. I don't think I can get along with one of those.

If the compressor has a decent size cable and decent alligator clips then it might be OK. I need to check the distance from the battery to the tires, but I suspect an AC compressor would be best. I can always run the generator and I have plenty of extension cords.

I also use a 120V compressor but it is nearing the end of it's life. What are the approximate dimensions of the Porter Cable / Craftsman compressor?

I realize that I am showing my ignorance here, but what does the 1.5 Gal refer to? It is an air compressor, so I don't understand the reference.

Viar makes good stuff. They even have "RV" versions that will deliver 2.3CFM or 1.8CFM with a max pressure of 150psi. That should start filling a fully flat tire fairly quickly until it starts needing to build real pressure

Their 1.8CFM 450P-RV version has a one-hour duty cycle.

I have their 300P and put an Anderson connector on the power cord,s o I can use the battery clamps or plug it into the back of my truck using the DC-DC connecter I added to the bumper.

Another spec is it only weighs about 20lbs, which makes it easy to tote around.
