RV TV Shows?

So... what shows are on TV about RVing? I've seen a few that showcase multi-million-dollar class As and the like, but are there shows about the average TT yanker or 5er flyer? Am I missing something?

On the Travel Channel... There was a series a year or so ago that showed how average RV buyers go about finding their "perfect" RV. As I recall, it seemed to take place in one (Florida?) dealership and looked to be just a half hour advertisement though it was depicted as a "reality" show. All the other RV shows (and there's many) I've seen, like Extreme RV, seem pretty out of touch.

The show you are referring to was basically a half hour commercial for Lazy Days that really didn't show anything of real world experiences. There are a couple of other shows but they seem to concentrate on the Newells, Foretravels, and Marathons of the world and not the world that most of us live in.

This thread reminds me of the old Wish You Were Here back in the 1980s with Kenny and Donna Price.

And, do you remember when the producers of that show hired Pat & Shirley Boone as hosts. I think that brilliant idea lasted about two seasons before the show was dustbinned.

For the last several years there has been a show that detailed the experiences of three families looking at RV's at the Hershey Show. One was interested in Travel Trailers, one in 5th wheels, and one in Motorhomes. The funny part about the show was they talking in terms of MSRP as if that is what the buyers were going to pay. That would only apply to someone who had just fallen off the turnip truck.

I've always especially loved the way Hollywierd portrays Texas and Texans... but... I still wish there were some shows about RVing in general, cooking out, setting up, breaking camp, towing, etc... etc...

We went to the Hershey show last year. 33 football fields full of every size camper you could imagine. We went for 3 days and didn't see half of them. I must say they were selling a lot of them. Really good deals to be had if you were seriously looking.

Wish the old "RV Today" was still on... was a good mix of reviews, tips, and such.

That I do! They had to get someone to take over when Kenny Price suddenly died of a heart attack after they returned from Alaska.

In retrospect, the producers would have better served their audience if they had re-run the Price episodes until someone better suited than the Boones were hired.
