RV Washer/Dryer suggestions

We're getting ready to install a washer and dryer in our 5th wheel. I was wondering what brands have provided good service, anyone have any advise? The laundry closet is large enough to fit a side by side setup at
48" X 241/2" , and has a vent already installed.

I just removed a stacked, front loading washer and dryer from the house we are selling. I measured the width of both to make sure they would fit in their new home. They both measured a little over 27 inches wide. I believe this is a "typical" width for full size washer/dryers. If they were used as side-by-side they would take up 54-55 inches in width. How do you plan on fitting them in a 48 inch wide space? Also, what type of heat will the dryer have? Most electric residential dryers are 220 volts. Do you have LPG handy in the laundry area?

We have a Splendide 2100XC vented combo. It was in the coach when we bought it 2-1/2 years ago, probably 4-5 years old total. Works fine and has served us well.

As Fran said, just be sure the W/D is made for RV use. I would get a combo unit and use that extra space for something else. At one time Splendide was about the only thing out there, but now there are several.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We have stackable Splendide units. The dryer is 110 and dries slower than a residential unit. Ours are over 3 years old and still working well. Would not be without them.

Splendide combo...start a load, eat breakfast, dry the load, get dressed, put in second load..... As stated above, we like the single unit and the extra space.

We are on Splendide number two, both have worked flawlessly.

We have Whirlpool separates. They do a good job, but we found out that Whirlpool will not stand by their warranty on them. Since they are in a RV, Whirlpool couldn't find a service repair that would work on them. We were told that we would have to remove the washer from the rig and have it outside and hooked to water/electric and then a repair person would come. We were told that it says in the warranty they can refuse to service them if in a closet or small area. When I told them it was no different than being in an apartment closet, they said it didn't matter they would not service. Next rig will be Splendide.

We have the Splendide combo, older model, and I love it. It isn't as big, obviously, as a residential washer or dryer, but it's invaluable and I wouldn't be without it. We do a wash most days and it's easy and convenient. We will sometimes put in a load after dinner and watch TV while washer and dryer go through their cycle. In the morning, clean clothes! Love having the shelf space that having the combo gives us.

DW just had to have her own so we put in a Splendid combo and it lasted two years. I hated it as she could only wash small loads and the dryer took forever. While it spins out, the whole rig vibrated. When ours failed she was forced to use park laundry and found it was so much easier. They are always clean and she finds some social life while waiting. RVs are enough trouble without adding more opportunities for water leaks.
