Sad Day!!

Lesson learned - NEVER loan your RV to anyone! I loaned my RV to a friend for the Labor Day weekend since we could not use it. Coming through Wyoming a deer jumped in front of the RV so he swerved to miss it. Instead of hitting the deer, he hit the barrier between the east bound and west bound lanes of the highway.

I have no idea if this damage can be fixed or if the insurance company will just call it a total loss. It is almost 18 years old and not worth a ton of money.

Anyone know of a good repair shop near Denver?

Aw, man! What a bummer. Sorry this happened to your RV. Hopefully it can be repaired. Will your friend's insurance cover the damage or will you have to file on yours?

His insurance will cover it. He filed the claim right away. Now I'm waiting on the adjuster to come take a look-see. That should be interesting since they usually deal with vehicles and houses but not a house ON a vehicle.

Anything can be fixed. The question is can it be fixed affordably.
I sure hope so, for your sake.

Sure looks fixable. Forget how it's paid for. He wrecked it he fixes it. End of story. Thats the way it works !!Get it fixed and HE pays for it.

PS Loved the deer story. My teenage son used that on me years ago. I didn't buy it.
Unless he can get the deer to pay for it, It's his baby.

OUCH!!! Sorry for you misfortune but as mentioned I would suspect whoever borrowed it should cover the cost of fixing it. Good luck and hope it all works out.

Sorry this happened to you, and although it sounds like your friend is doing the right thing by going through his insurance, I still have to agree with you on the lesson learned. These things are just too expensive to lend out to anyone.

Sorry for your trouble.

As Monty Python once said "It's just a Flesh Wound".

My DW is big hearted and would loan to family and friends and we always got our stuff back in worst shape then we loaned it. After some disappointments we came to an understanding...we do not loan out our stuff anymore, RV's, lawn mowers, tools, etc. I tell them if they need something I will get the address of the nearest rent a center, etc.

I did it once (a long time ago).........................and worried about it for a week.
Fortunately, there was no damage when it was returned.
BUT, NEVER again.
