Joe, I'll second the option of a leaking outer skylight. Had the same issue last winter. Looked the skylight over and didn't see any cracks or holes, but knew it had to be there. As soon as I had the old outer skylight out, I could see the small crack. Only took a few hours to remove and replace. The inner was fine, so only needed to but the outer cover.

Lay an old floormat over the skylight before next rainfall. That should tell, unless the old mat has a hole in it; in that case grab one out of DW's car.  You may coat the skylight with clear acrylic exterior sealer.
I envy your ceiling work Joe, I cannot work above my shoulders.

We had the sealtech test done about four years ago. It was a bit over $200 as i recall. Unfortunately for us it did not find the windshield leak which turned out to be a tiny caulk defect.

UPDATE- FOUND THE PROBLEM! I got up there today and found a tiny crack between the EternaBond tape and the skylight! It was so small I would never have thought that any water could get in, but when I pulled up the tape there was water underneath! While I was working on the sealing I accidentally pressed my hand against the plastic dome and it split wide open! 
Well, it was 18 years old so I guess it's about time! I found a replacement on Amazon and ordered it along with the special butyl rubber sealant that is highly recommended for skylights. I will be finishing the sealing with the EternaBond 4" tape and Dicor 502LSW sealant. Hopefully when I get this installed and give it a good water test with the next heavy rain, that I can go ahead with the ceiling replacement.

Glad you found it. Water intrusion can be insidious. Hard to find, and hard to believe it can get where it can get. You now have a dry roof, and a new skylight that will last for another 20 years.

I don't understand. I thought you could seal anything on the roof with Dicor! I plan to use the special butyl rubber sealer under the lip of the skylight, then seal the whole thing with EternaBond tape and the Dicor. What's the problem with that?

Joe, your way with butyl sealant under lip of skylight, and 4” etrnabond is exactly the way I replaced our cracked skylight on our Open Road motorhome. It’s been six years now, and no problems leakage or otherwise.

I would just use the Eternabond over the flange. Dicor doesn't seem to play well with polycarbonate

I wonder why Monaco used the Dicor (or a similar sealant) on the skylight during construction?

When you lift yours you will likely find Monaco used the proper butyl skylight sealant. It's darker grey than Dicor, and very soft. That's what was under mine.
The Dicor was probably applied by a previous owner, or shop.

I was planning to use the butyl rubber sealant under the lip, screw it down, put a bead of Dicor around the edges, then apply EternaBond tape, and finish with a thin bead of Dicor around the edges of the tape. Not much Dicor in the entire process.

I saw a commercial for Flex SEal. Has anyone used it around the skylights? Looks very pliable.
