Sell Toad with Class A ??

Hi all, we are getting ready to put our 2015 Phaeton QBH on the market. Been fun but we are done! In any case just wondering if we should try to sell the Caddy SUV (2016) we use as TOAD vehicle with it since it is already set up with a system and really a nice car? Anyone have luck selling together as package ??

Seems like a good idea, worth a try. Perhaps listing the toad as $xx extra, giving a buyer the option to include or exclude the Caddy.

Not a bad idea. The cost of setting up a toad adds up.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

That's a great idea if you can find a buyer that doesn't already have a toad!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I have 2 friends who have recently purchased class A motorhomes complete with a toad. Both loved the idea of not having to set things up for flat towing. The available toad was a buying feature for them.

There are many folks who are purchasing their first RV and it sure makes things easier for them.

If the toad doesn't sell with the coach, you could always list it here on iRV2: also has a section for "Tow-behind cars"

Both cater to RV'ers looking for vehicles already set up to be flat towed and I'm sure you'd get a better price for your Cadillac there than with some dealership somewhere.

Put 3 prices in your ad: reduced cost as a package; RV alone; Caddy alone. Good luck!

We just traded a 2018 Jayco Class A together with a KIA Soul toad, set up with Roadmaster tow bar and RVi3 brake system (we bought a nice new 5th wheel).

Originally we planned to sell or consign the motorhome and see to get the KIA sold separately but the dealer for our new 5th wheel made a trade offer for both vehicles that was too tempting. I am quite confident that we might have got a better price for the vehicle selling privately but the hassle of dealing with numerous tire kickers and lowballers for months just did nor appeal to us. The consignment commission would also have been significant. On top of that was the serious savings in sales tax for the trade deal (about $5000) that compensated for some of the lower price (please note that the trade-in sales tax savings does not work in all states). Overall, we got a fair sales tax and a check for $3000 from the dealer. Now...don't ask me about the money we spent on the new truck to tow that thing

As stated above, decide upon price for complete set up, RV alone, TOAD alone. You will need to figure out what your bottom dollar is on each price point. Good luck on the sale or sales.
May your smiles be many and the miles be plenty.

When I sold my prior MH I was interested in a new toad so I included the toad as an "Available Extra" if anyone interested. I also listed a toad package including toad, tow bar and Brake Buddy. Both here on iRV2
I had little interest in MH and toad together, but you never know and worth a try.
I did sell the toad pkg to someone getting started that didn't want the expense of new vehicle and setting it up unless / until they were sure they were going to stay with the MH lifestyle.
If one or the other sells first I would take the sale and just tell others its gone. Not worth holding out for the one perfect buyer situation.
