Selling Motorhome ?'s

I have listed our MH on several sites. I just had a phone call fro National Marketing Classifieds wanting to market our rig. She told me it was a one time $150.00 fee. Has anyone heard of this company? She gave me a web site National Marketing Classifieds - NMSell Camper and RV Classifieds RVSellersUSA.com They are out of Omaha NE.
Just wondered if anyone here had heard of them or dealt with them. I think it sounds to simple and something to run from but...
Thanks for any help.

Well I just did a google search and reviews are not good. I was right in thinking stay away from them. Needless to say they won't get me hooked.

For nationwide coverage, RV Trader is probably the best way to go. Been around for ages. We bought our Lexington via an add in the Trader, and were pleased with the buying experience.

I would not pay someone $150 to market my coach and what is their guarantee to sell it. As mentioned, RV Trader is one of the best sites to find, look at and sell your coach and it is a lot less $. You can also try your local papers or even Craigslist. I have sold several motorcycles and cars on Craigs and never have had any problem if done correctly.

Drive it down to Houston at PPL Consignment. They sold ours within a month. Didn't have to deal with 'no shows' and telephone calls.

Another vote for RVTrader.com! They have a great site! When we sold a 5er through them they had a one-time charge to run it until it sells, with LOTS of photos!

As Bruce said, don't forget the IRV2 Classifieds, and they're free!

Let me add this from another perspective. As a former buyer. ( new to us 08 phaeton two weeks ago). A clean rv will get more looks than one just put up for sale. We went thru ppl and if we smelled it at the door was opening we walked away. There were lots of this at ppl, drug out of the barn and on the lot. Most frost time buyers expect it to be spotless like buying a used car. The norm in rv seems to be take it as is. But when spending 100 k +. Clean clean cleaner. Hope you sell it soon.

For anyone that has used RV Trader to sell a motor home which option did you choose? I would want at least 15-20 pictures.

Thanks for any help.

As a perspective buyer, the more photos the better.

As RV Trader is a National publication, many potential buyers may be very far away. The more photos you can provide, the better sense the shopper is going to have about what you're selling.

I had one woman who had 4 - that's right... 4 pictures of her coach and was asking $110k for it. When I asked her for additional pictures she told me... "It's here, you can come look at it." The coach was over a 1000 miles away. I really wanted a better idea of what I was looking at before I sprung for a plane ticket.

Also... be sure to provide critical specs. VIN, Gen size and hours, etc. Also point out any recent maintenance or upgrades... example: "New tires and Batteries, etc."

... and don't be too "in love" with your coach. I see several that sit out there for months or more. Mostly they're just over priced. If you put it out there and it's not sold in 6 months, you need to re-evaluate what you're asking for it. That's one good thing about PPL in Houston, they will suggest a sales price to get the unit sold! Using their List of actual Sell prices (for units sold) might help you to understand what you should be asking. Here's a link to PPL's "Units Sold" page.

Used Recreational Vehicles Sold or for Sale - PPL Motor Homes

Hope this helps... and best of luck to you.
