Sellng privately- Title and/or Escrow Companies

For those of you who have bought and sold a coach privately, we are wondering if you made use of a Title and/or Escrow company to facilitate the paperwork, closing documents, transfer of funds and title. If you did, which ones and would you use that same company again. What did they charge? Any information you can provide will be very much appreciated. Thank you and regards,

I used to be a realtor (40 years ago) so I am familiar with title/escrow services for real property (land and structures connected to land), but I didn't know that there are companies that handle personal property (other than land) transactions. If they do exist, it would make it much easier to transfer the title to a vehicle and make sure all previous loans/encumbrances were satisfied before payments were distributed to the seller. How much they would charge would be the deciding factor.

I will be watching this post to see what I can learn.

I've done aircraft sales through an escrow service, AOPA... If I remember right, Their cost was like $150 for simple escrow and FAA filing. They hold the title until funds are verified, then register to new owner and send the check.

The biggest advantage is a neutral third party verifies the conditions before executing the sale.

You might try a Marine Documentation Company. Have bought and sold a few boats using their services.

Bought mine through a private sale. Sat down together in the sellers bank. Money transferred to the bank into a temporay escrow acct. The bank took the balance needed for the sellers loan. I got the title. Seller got the balance transferred to his account. Temporary escrow account was closed. Quick.

No personal experience, but there are vehicle sale escrow services at:
https://www.escrow.com/
https://paysafeescrow.com/car-escrow

And Edmunds has this advice on private used vehicles transactions:
