some sage advice from a guy that ran a honey dipper truck.... don't lick your lips. I've always remember that one. Feel free to use it whenever appropriate.

We only have gotten to take our out once but when we were done emptying everything we rinsed ours out with regular water too.

You people are too funny. Dump any way you like. Just do it quickly. And if you get poo 💩 on your hands wash them.

Too Funny

With being cooped up because of Covid I have taken to reading more forums.
I can honestly say it makes me laugh to read all the submissions.
Which is a good thing.
Even the mean and nasty posters can be taken as funny if you consider they too have probably not had to much interaction with people lately.
Rinse on fellow RVr's rinse on.

Hmmm,

Not true. My Class A 2002 National RV has a single discharge point. Two valves but one outlet. I pull the black tank valve, flush the black tank by filling and discharging fresh water (from outside my rig), then drain the gray water tank. No need to run the gray tank first.

Like others, I doubt the benefit. But to each his/her own!

If you took a look inside most slinky’s they have the same wrinkles as the outside. I have not seen one that is smooth on the inside. Please post info where to find that one. Thank You

I only have 43 with Dorothy, but that might be the funniest thing I’ve read in years.

Start locking your holding tank compartment. Kids are running around and opening black water tank. Pulling the cover off is disastrous.

I like the smooth bore idea and didn't know there was such a creature. May see about getting at least ten feet for us.
I don't do anything like that my butler does the stinky work

Accordion hoses have all sorts of crevices, pleats, folds, ridges, etc inside them depending on their construction be they wire wound on just reinforced polypropylene. So yes its better to have the open folds full of water and not dry before dumping the black tanks. We think nothing of wetting a car, sidewalk or deck down before washing it and the same principle for eliminating surface tension applies here. It can save time rinsing out the hose afterwards so I have no problem taking a few seconds at the start of the process to potentially save a few minutes at the tail of the process of dumping the tanks and flushing out the sewer hose. I'm lazy though since I have a tank flush inside the black tank and a sewer hose flush attached to the tank outlet so I just let the hose flush run for a few moments to wet it down before dumping the black tank. In the past 50 years I have not had the stinky slinky issue that others mention having to deal with.

I purchase decent quality disposable gloves in the XXLarge size that fits my hands so the gloves are not a problem. Work smart not hard.

The US Navy, before discharging their tanks to an off-hull facility, always do a ‘proof of flow’ check first, for leaks. I’m not in the Navy though so…
