You mean some of the darlings who served overseas in the 60' and 70's who were exposed to "Agent Orange" and have suffered from lung and breathing problems ever since? They should be entitled to something.

Why pick on Moho's with whisper-quiet diesels generators, when you were bothered by a loud construction-type genset in a pickup bed?

If you are one of those, I thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

I still respectfully would ask you to obey campground rules about quiet hours and to find other solutions that don't involve running gensets during quiet times. We likely will never cross paths, but this community is dependent upon mutual respect for other campers or the whole lifestyle becomes a miserable mirror of city life.

Called the security office and they came down 45 min later and had them shut off.

Now I'm understanding why casino's have changed their parking rules and now not letting moho's with gen sets park in the casino lots. Many vegas casinos are no longer allowing RV's to park in their lots while others are now charging for car parking. New RV park rates are driving folks to boonparklot rather than stay in parks.

I have never had the need to run my generator after quiet hours. I try to be prepared but things can happen. We don't know the reason the guy in question was running a generator. This was simply an idea I had as to why.
Had it been me and the generator bothered me that much (which it wouldn't have) I would knocked on the owner's door and politely asked him to shut it down. If he obliged, that would have been nice. If not, I would have walked away. It wouldn't be important enough to make a scene in a free parking lot which could lead to real trouble.

Yes.
Find a place to overnight where your requirements won't break the rules.
Rest stops, truck stops, Walmart, RV park, campground, etc.

I have a right to play Jethro Tull at max volume through my outside speaker from 10pm to 6am in Cracker Barrel parking lots. So if a motorhome pulls in next to me at Cracker Barrel after 10pm and fires up it’s generator in pleasant weather, he has the right to disturb my sleep, but is he right and neighborly to do so? No more stupid cpap excuses please. I got one of those too, and that’s why I have a battery. IMHO, the ONLY reason to run your generator after 10pm is if it’s uncomfortably hot. I hope the next person who pulls that selfish stunt on me can sleep with Jethro Tull at 75db. He’s got wheels and can move on.

Really? When, just when, did I ever say I ran any generator or anything else when it was prohibited?

Here are a couple of pointer for Walmart and Casino parking:

1 - Get there late. RVers tend to clump together. If you get there late you can see the group and stay away.

2. Politely, ask the person with the generator to turn it off. Many people don't know about the noise.

3. Casinos - that allow lot parking don't mind if you call security. Just call them up and say: "I just got out of your casino; had a great meal and there is this guy running a loud generator. Can you send someone to ask him to turn it off?"

4. Walmart - you could call the manager and just ask: "Are there noise regulations in this city? I just did some shopping and there is a guy in your lot running a loud generator."

People with loud generators give RVers a bad name.

To my fellow RV'ers,

Please forgive me for being so cranky and defensive. It has been a long year being forced to be homebound and everything - and I do believe fibers from extended use of those cheap face masks broke free and got into both my lungs and bloodstream. I love my fellow Rvers and in the future I promise to think twice before transmitting harsh thoughts into written words. I'm feeling much better now.

Thank You and have a nice day

Bill

I think you are telling the truth so I feel so sorry for you.
My case is different. You see, I have a sister, Karen. I have a sister in law, Karen. I have a neighbor, Karen. Mercy!!!
