Side Cameras - Front or Rear of Trailer?

I bought a Haloview three camera system last year and installed it on my 30' travel trailer. It was prewired for the backup camera and I replaced the front marker lights on each side. It works well and is a huge help for changing lanes on the freeway, but still leaves a bit to be desired for backing up.

Has anyone tried installing side cameras at the back of the trailer? I am usually putting my trailer back into the storage yard solo and my space is pretty tight. I'm at the maximum length for the row I'm in and swinging the nose of the truck is an issue if there are long campers across the "road". It gets tiring jumping out constantly to make sure I am not hitting the neighbor on the blind side. With the camera about 25' from the back corner of the trailer I just can't see enough detail to know how close I am to other objects. I also can't see the trailer in the center rear camera so it is difficult to judge distance unless something is 10' tall - like the camper behind me in the yard. There is a low blind spot on that camera. I can see the sides of my trailer just fine in the side mirrors while driving so I tend to leave the display on full rear.

My main concern would be the wireless range moving them back 20+ feet with more aluminum in the way. The rear works fine but I'm not sure if they use the same power transmitters in the sides vs rear. I suppose I could just move one and see how it goes but hate dealing with waterproofing everything. Anyone try it before?

If you think distance is a proble I think they make repeaters for most camer systems. But personally I would buy 2 more cameras. You will miss the side view on the front of the trailer. I think there are some pretty cheap ones tha work with a smartphone via Bluetooth. You’d only use it when backing into tight spots.

$55 on Amazon. You might only need one for the blind side. Then you still would have your regular camera for use in traffic
