Simple Tire - Date Codes

I'm looking at ordering tires from simpletire.com. I asked them about what I could expect for the date codes I would see on the tires. They responded that they "make sure all tires that are shipped our within our industry standard of 4 years or earlier".

I'd like to hear from people who have ordered from simpletire.

If their standards are that low, I'd look elsewhere. It's certainly not an industry standard...IMO.

I won't buy any tires with code dates more than 6 months out!

I ordered tires from Motorhometires.com and all six were between the 9th and 11th week of 2021, so basically March. They were installing them in my Arizona driveway on 5/25/21.

I would never purchase or mount a new tire if over 6 months.

I had an experience at a dealership where I found my designated replacements to be over a year old! When I challenged the service manager, his tried to convince me that the age of the tires make no difference because I was going to get the full warranty regardless of the date on the tire!

Yes, I walked! But I had to laugh when I passed that truck center a year later and noticed the place was no longer in business! Surprise, surprise!

Last time I ordered tires They were 3 months old. Four year old tires, NOI! I would be replacing them in 3 or less years.

I went ahead and ordered. I'm assuming an online retailer with a national distribution system is moving tires fast enough for it to not be a problem. I'll post the date codes when I get them.

Ording from them and having them installed at a local garage is saving me $500 over the local tire place (who would also order them).

Keep in mind a lot of tire places will not work on tires more than 10 years old. In some places it's law. Which means if you buy tires with a four year old date code, you have an effective life of 6 years. Which may not be a problem because that's about the time RV'ers begin to think about replacing them anyway. But still.

I ordered a set of Saliuns from SimpleTire Sep 11, 2020.
Tire date code was "22/20" - or mid-May 2020, so they were four months old.

I bought an unmounted spare from Simple Tire several years ago and the date code was only a few weeks old. Can't really beat the price and service from them.

They treated you a lot better than me. My Sailuns were three years old and 1.5 years old.and they sent me three of each which really screws up the replacement process.
