Lemme turn up my soca. Hot, hot, hot. A banjo will get me looking for the source hoping for bluegrass. So, what is wrong with bagpipes? Irish will get my attention. Most anything 60s or 70s is just fine.
Urban & C rap will instantly bring the blood to a boil.
Fortunately in 15 years & almost 2000 nights on the road we have never been kept up by music of any genre, except at bluegrass festivals & that is by choice.

Perception
Loud and too loud as based upon perception Most people don't realize their music is too loud, as an old Harley rider my hearing is substantially Reduced. So what may seem loud to you is barely audible to me and I do love my music. I don't mind to be reminded if someone else hear it as a bit too loud.
Love my Harman Kardon portable indestructible with great sound Nothing Better playing the John Fogerty Channel on Pandora

I ran 2" drag pipes on my shovel from 1978 till 2006 when I bought my 94 Ultra Classic with a V&H ProPipe on it. Hearing loss? What you say?

Many many (oh my am I old) years ago we lived in a mobile home community. We had a neighbor that played their music very loud. I would call the park manager and most times they wouldn't do anything about it.
One day I couldn't take any more so I opened all my windows and turned up some Queen on my stereo that made his look like a transistor radio. We're talking concert volume.
Sure enough the park manager showed up, people were complaining. Oh, you do enforce the rules? Never had an issue again.
I carry a really nice sound system in our rig but I rarely use it unless we're all alone with no one else around. However, if the neighbors don't respond to polite requests I have been known to drown out any system they have with The Carpenters or Barry Manilow. It's very effective.

only two kinds of music i can not stand are county and western, such sad sack stuff, but it ticks me off when the bump-bump rages through the walls, (and not just in a rv) and the source is 1 mile or more away.
some just do not understand courtesy.
(to bad i am old, i would invest heavily in a company that makes hearing aids.)
i do believe daytime is ok, as long as it does not become a problem to others just trying to talk to people in there camping spot, but after the sun goes down. it is quiet time.

We do not have music on either our boat or SxS. Please do not generalize.

Since We Had Threads Re Smoking And Lights, Lets Talk Offensive Music
I never understood why a motorhome parked in Yosemite would have the "game" blaring and yelling at the tv, losing most of his beer in an incredible place....or why do manufacturers install an outside speaker system (fine for other locations) that gets used in a CG?
There's always those folks.....

Hey packnrat,
Did you ever play a country/western record backwards?
You get your job back, the wife comes home, your truck works, your dog is back at your feet, and on and on.

I’m a gigantic music fan but I have never blared music at a campground. Luckily, I’ve never been subjected to anyone blaring music in my vacinity in such a way that it negatively affected our camping.
However, I also see everyone being out camping as a way to get out enjoy your time with family and friends so if people are loud and laughing and having a good time I kind of expect it and don’t mind if at all as long as they wind things down at a reasonable time.

Keep it simple: just go back to what Mr. Rogers taught kids on PBS.
Be thoughtful & considerate of other people.
Imagine what their world would be like if you weren't present. They wouldn't hear your voice, your music, smell your odors, and more.
Now insert yourself into their world. Keep your voice & music low enough so you're not impacting them.
Then apply this to educating children and adults. Not in an aggressive / in-your-face way, but as Mr. Rogers would have. Without accusation, without anger, without causing hurt.
Realize that if EVERYONE were raised this way, taught these things, we'd have no need for many of the laws on the books. Those were created to stop others from doing something we don't like.
