Slide Issue

Good morning y'all,
So we had a tropical storm warning and the hubs got on the roof to check things out etc. Well in doing so, he noticed our living room slide did not meet up and seal (he's slanted from previous owners redoing it) as we knew something was going on as we had slight water damage on the slide wall recently. Our question is how do we raise it so it seals without messing up the tracks?

Thanks in advance. We're newbies to this and pretty much have to do things ourselves.

Gonna need to know what type of rv and slide system you have. Take a couple of pictures if possible.

This is not how to fix your slide, but something I do if I know heavy rains are forecast.
I will slightly tip the coach down on the slide side to allow the water to rub off easier. Doesn't take much and not really noticeable inside. I do this because there are low and high spots in the metal slide roof so this prevents pooling.

We need more information to assist. Like the trailer brand and slide system you have installed. Is a a gear track Lippert system? Does the slide raise up when you retract and extend it?

Are you saying the slide is not even front to back, or sideways?

Lots to look at to be sure it seals correctly. Water leaks will occur. I would check to slide floor for water damage as well if it's been leaking.

Thanks

Sorry y’all we have a 2003 forest river 5th wheel toy hauler. It doesn’t meet up and down when the original owners rebuilt the slide the framing is crooked. The slides are hydraulic. I took inside pics, my hubs will have to get outside. I’ll post pics below.

Sorry one pic is sideways

From that angle it looks more like a damaged wiper seal and or bulb seal. If you need to adjust one end there may be a couple of long threaded rods underneath the slide. You can use those to bring that end in or out as needed. If it is a cable type it will be different. Be sure and check those seals though because you should not be getting that much light through there.

If it’s a height issue, meaning too much gap between the roof and the wiper, then it’s not an adjustment issue but a gasket issue. Double wiper gaskets are available with up to 2” of wiper. Search AP products I believe. If the gap is down the side (one side out further than the other) there may be an adjustment possible.

Yeah, I looked this am while i was organizing things. The one side is out farther than the other. Not too much farther, but enough that pine needles and dirt get in when it's windy. lol My hubs is gonna look at adjusting it this am and see.

This video shows a similar adjustment. Look around you will likely find a video showing your same system.

If you need to buy a new seal check Steele Rubber Products. They carry seals for just about every type of vehicle.
