Slide out insanity

Ok, we've had the m.h. for a year now, have used it quite a lot. How long before I learn not to bang my head or my back when the slides are out and I'm underneath them?

See, you probably have a brain injury from hitting them so much so who knows how long it'll be . . .

I read somewhere where the definition of insanity is doing something over and over and never learning from you're mistake.

Been doing it since we bought the coach and just did it today when checking the tire pressure. Starting to think I'm developing a callus on my skull as it didn't hurt as much as in the past. Still said a few choice words though.

Well, it could be worse. You could be sweeping and looking down at the pavement, and walk right into the slide with your forehead. (I have heard of this happening. )

Is this why several RVers with slides out have those 3-4 foot colored tubes attached to the front and back of their slides when they are extended? Don't know what they are called or where they get them but I guess they serve a good purpose. My worst headaches come from bumping into the lower edge of the large awning arm when it's not fully run out. Guess I need a red bandanna or something like that to hang on it.
No wonder we're all just a little on the nutty side, all this head banging.

Specifically "swim noodles" - bought a pair from Walmart and been using them on the corner of the slides. No more "accidental bumping".

Fortunately for us, we have nothing of interest under our slide so there's no reason to go under it for anything.

I have the slide out corner protectors from Camping World on each corner of the slides. When grandkids come to visit, the swim noodles cover the other part of the slide bottom.

No matter how many times we do it, nothing hurt like walking into the old awning arms and breaking your nose !
