Slide out issue

I accidentally closed my slide into a box on one of the ends of the slide inside the camper. Now when sliding it out, it only goes a few inches and then thuds, starts going uneven and sounds like it’s stripped and stops moving. What will it take to fix this issue?

Might have jumped a tooth, assuming you have a rack and pinion system. You may need to open and expose the rack system to watch it work while someone moves the slide.

Need more info on type of slide. Is it a gear driven above floor slide or smaller Schwintec type?

Maybe mention your RV make, year and model.

Then we can offer more ideas as to what happened, and possible repairs to get it corrected.

It’s a 2015 Texas Edition palomino by Forest River, purchased at camping world. The slides have a motor and are gear driven with teeth. The slide will slide out a little bit and then pops on one side and won’t continue.

Here is a link to the website for Lippert who makes the slide system.

There will be an access panel underneath the trailer near the gear motor to manually move the slide. Unless you or someone you know is handy with this stuff, I would suggest you hire someone to repair it.

Good luck.
