Snow birds are flocking in!!

Talked to my parents (87-86) who just arrived in Surprise, AZ from Spokane by car. They said they had never seen so many caravans of MH's and 5'vers on the road in all their snow birding years (they started 25 years ago). Mom said they are without hot water for a week because the utility company is that far behind in requests to get the gas turned on.

Yep, same hear in FL. NOAA and Farmers Almanac predict another cold winter just like last year. People are heading south early. 84 today great breeze, siping ice tea by number seven green. Ahhhhhhh!

I drove home from Salt Lake City last Thursday on the I15 and I would bet that 80% of the motorhomes and trailers I saw were from Canada.

We were headed to the N. Ga. mtns from FL a week ago and noticed all the RVs headed south on I-75. How dumb are we? We drove INTO the cold weather.

On Interstate 75 in Kentucky today we saw two car haulers both loaded with cars bearing license tags from Canada heading south. I guess some people fly down and get their cars shipped down.

Am in Quartzsite and I see 40 to 50 going by some down to Yuma but the areas around town are starting to fill faster this season than two years ago.

We drove home to Alabama from middle Florida Sunday, and there were many, many RV's going south. Most were high line Class A's (with toads), and relatively few fifth wheels. I made the same route a month ago, and there was virtually no RV traffic going south through Georgia.

I would have expected such migration later in December, but not this early (November 2nd.)

We pulled into the Brunswick Georgia flying j at 4:45 pm yesterday and could not find a good spot for the night so we moved on. The migration is in full swing.
