snowbirding in winter

We were taking our rv to south FL in the winter. Venice north port area. But found a park model trailer in rv park for 17,000 so now we can just drive down in car and stay the winter. Use rv here in Atlanta area for camping. Anyone else doing the same thing

Yup!
After bouncing all over the US after retiring, mostly 6-8 week trips (no interest in full timing). During our travels we often judged areas we were in for their potential as a place to settle into once finally tired of winter weather. We found ourselves returning to Florida frequently.

Anyway, we eventually settled on Florida, then started bouncing around all over down there. We like our privacy, not a fan of big crowds or constantly busy roads. Finally found an area where we could enjoy that while still being within an easy drive of most of Florida's attractions. What sold us eventually was how friendly everyone we dealt with was. We went with a very reasonably priced house on an acre lot in a development where keeping our motor home at home would not be an issue. Couldn't be any happier with our choice. The area is along the Gulf coast, roughly from Tampa north to Ocala. Often referred to as the nature coast.
