How about Social Security, IRS, and other government or organizations that send out mail?

I use St. Brenan's Isle because they have a scanning service. They scan the mail as it comes in and I can log on and see my mail online (yes, I use online billing for my bills). I can usually handle it without getting it forwarded except for a few items per year that require me to have the actual piece of mail. I am sure there are others that offer this service.

We are very very pleased with St. Brendan's Isle also. I have them forward our pack of mail to us about once a month, to where ever we are, unless there is something a need sooner. But since they will open the mail and scan it to you, if requested, I can see important stuff when it comes in. Each day they email an image of all the envelopes they receive and you can choose to have them hold it, scan it or shred it.
Very slick operation!

We also use SBI mail service. Live fulltime on a boat (will transition to RV, very near future) and they are very good. Even when we traveled out of country. Their scan feature allowed us to solve a potentially bad IRS problem even though we were in the Bahamas. When we shift to Motorhoming, we will absolutely us them.

It all sounds pretty reasonable. I do have a couple of questions. I pay 99% of my bills and banking online. 1. I worry about things tax related, like 1099 forms, property tax notces, notices and legal things you might not expect.. 2. It seems like 90% of my snail mail is junk and goes in the trash. I really don't want to pay good money to forward junk mail. Do these service separate and dispose of the junk mail or do you just bite the bullet and pay the forward fee?

We have our service trash all known junk mail. They have not forwarded any to us in the 1 1/2 yrs we've had the service.
