Sofa/Couch Length

I'm still shopping for my RV. Right now leaning toward a Sandpiper 345 RET primarily since it is one of the very few RVs that has a sofa long enough for me to stretch out on. Why don't more RV makers allow a bit more room for the all important sofa. I don't even care if it makes into a bed. But, I do need a minimum of 5'9" (or 69") of sofa between the arm rests. Also, RV sellers could do us a favor by indicating exactly how long the sofa actually is in the floorplan. I've rejected hundreds of other terrific plans simply because the sofa was too short, or I couldn't tell how long it actually is. Com'on builders and sellers; help a buyer out, eh?

The longer the coach....the longer the sofa....usually. Manufacturers only have so much space to work with.

The online and brochure spec content seems to get more and more sparse as the years go buy. A lot of people just buy on looks anyway, so they concentrate on the flashy stuff, videos, photo gallerys, etc.

There are so many tradeoffs in an RV it is impossible to please everybody. Sofas is just one of many things we each have individual preferences about. I seldom lie on ours, whereas my wife frequently does, and a shorter sofa allows a longer galley area in our floor plan, so it's a good tradeoff for us. A nice recliner is my necessity, since I prefer that to the sofa. Different strokes for different folks...
