Really did something stupid....A sudden windstorm caught us with our awning out and to prevent a catastrophy I quickly threw a strap across it and tied one end to a tree and the other end onto the bumper of my toad...then got a phone call and decided to make a quick trip up town.I guess I don't have to tell the rest of the story, but we'll be sporting a new awning next time you see us..

I am sorry to hear that, although I did get a chuckle. It sounds like something I might have done. I hope you get to enjoy your new awning longer than your last one. I know that you won't do that again. Enjoy your summer.

Reminds me of the story of the guy who was going to work on the back side of his steep garage roof, so he tied a rope to the front bumper of the car sitting in the driveway and tied the other end to his waist. Then his wife decided that she needed to run to the store.....

Did you ever see the movie "RV"? If you did, I thought maybe that's where you got the idea from.

All kidding aside, sorry for your misfortune.

Takes a big person to admit a mistake. You're a better person for it!

Since you've opened the thread for "one of those ...duh moments....I'm sure we all have had one of those!

I do have to tell one on hubby (RustyJC) who maybe won't look at this thread again for awhile!

He backed into our site, rolled down the landing gears, got everything ready to unhitch EXCEPT he forgot to unplug the cord from the switch in the back of the truck.

He gets in the truck to actually unhitch the rv when ....kaboom!....the cord snapped and bent it all to heck and back. Took him about an hour to get it straighted out.

Believe me....we've all had those ...duh..what was I thinking? moments!

Sandy
