Stabilizer supports - what do you use?

We're soon to take possession of a new travel trailer. It's 6 feet longer than our old one, with 3 slides, travelling with 2-4 older kids and a large dog in addition to hubby and myself. We've only ever relied on the stabilizer jacks that come on the rig. Bouncing and rocking when anyone moves was an issue in the little rig with only a small slide. I'm sure a bigger unit with more and larger slides has to be more wobbly. Now I'm seeing all sorts of step, frame and slide supports that are supposed to help with wobble and rock when people move around inside. Do any of these work? What do you use/like/recommend?

X-jacks are a big help. A pain to use, but really help with stabilization.

I've always been told to stabilize the trailer or motorhome etc. but do not support the slide out rooms. They are designed to "hang out there" and any support could cause leaks.

We use plywood to place the jacks pads on. It really helps the pads from sinking in the wet ground.

....
Agree. If you have a support under the slide and have a flat tire on that side you could do serious damage to the RV and the slide.

X-Clocks between the trailer wheels PLUS wheel chocks........stops the back/forth motion

As wide a stance as you can achieve when setting stabilizers.......wood blocks etc so that stabilizers do not have to extend as much.

After side to side leveling....wheel chocks set (1st ON--last OFF!!!)...x-chocks set TIGHT then unhitch
Level Front to Rear with tongue jack (landing gear on FWs) then drop nose down 1" off level
Set Rear stabilizers tight
Run nose back up to level and set front stabilizers tight (TT)

JB Strongarms....great for FW

Due to length of trailer frame, suspension/tires.......bounce occurs unless frame is 'blocked'
Extra stabilizers, screw jacks, bottle jacks etc on frame forward or aft of axles will remove the bounce from the suspension/tires.

Slide outs........
SELF SUPPORT when fully extended (some that tilt up when retracted should NOT be stepped on when IN)
NO supports needed, required, recommended....can cause damages due to pushing UP on slide out'

LET THEM HANG.....
