Stabilizing Bar

Has anyone tried a stabilizing bar such as the "BAL Lock-Arm Stabilizing Bar" for stabilizing your rig?

Do a search for JT StrongArms or Plug-It-Right. Both are products similar to the BAL product. I think there's a couple of others, too. I personally don't have any of them installed on our rig but most users appear to be happy with whichever product they have. I'm still using an aluminum tripod and a Wayne's stabilizer that I've had for years.
