State Park Senior Passes

In addition to the Federal Senior Pass, does anyone know of states that offer Senior Golden Age Passes for State Parks? I know Maryland does, costs $10, good Sun-Thurs, 50% off campsites. Any others?

California State Parks will give a senior discount for campsites that amounts to $2.00. Just show your driver's license.

There is also an annual Golden Bear Pass. Eligibility requirements apply. My understanding is that only applies for day use.

Nevada state parks do. $30 for a year and free campsites with $10 additional charge if electric is available.

BARAFF: Are you asking about residents or non-residents of the states?

I believe California and Nevada Senior Passes are for residents only.

WA state has an off season season senior pass that provides free camping from Oct-Mar and weekdays in April. Electricity is an extra charge of about $10 a night. We've enjoyed it for the past two years.

NC does not have senior discounts even for residents and most of the parks are falling apart. That was before Covid as well.

In my travels around the country, and we've hit most of them, state parks that offer discounts is only for residents. Some will offer disabled veterans a discount but the ones I checked that's also for residents. We've tended to not use state parks that much because of our size, but that changed with the Omni and hope to use more.

I don't believe it's been mentioned yet, that Florida gives 50% off the camping fee (you're still charged whatever taxes and fees there are) for Florida residents over 65.

My home state of Kentucky offers a 10% discount for seniors. In West Virginia as septuagenarians we get free snow skiing passes, and 10% off the camping fee.

Wisconsin has day pass and annual pass discounts. Camping fees are not discounted.

I'm looking for non-resident passes, such as Maryland's. Illinois offers a discount to Seniors for camping, I think $5 off per night. Shows up on your reservation checkout if I remember correctly.

Georgia gives senior discount, I believe it is 10%. It is given on arrival. Call or go by the office and they will credit the discount to your card, if the card is already charged. Doesn’t matter whether resident or not.

Tennessee also gave a discount the last time I used their parks.

I have reservations at Carolina Beach State Park in Mar of 22, they gave me a 6 dollar a night discount for being 62 or older.
