Still Searching for first RV
- My question for the long time RVers is Class C diesel with toad, 28 to 32 foot Class A diesel with toad or Class C diesel, no toad. Class C diesel must be Ford Transit Chassis or MB Sprinter Chassis for us to consider. Please just kind of like a poll, short answers would be appreciated.
- Best and fastest RV financing, preferably companies that offer preapproval. Too many advertisements, just not sure. We would like to buy from an individual if possible.

Are there any problems finding finance companies that would loan for sales from private individuals as opposed to dealerships? I guess the sales source wouldn't matter as long as the finance company held the title(although the interest rate might be affected)...

Sprinter isn't convenient to get repairs. Not everyone works on them.

Watch the cargo carry capacity (number of pounds of junk you can haul) particularly on those larger class C's. RV's built in the last 9 years will have a government mandated data plate near the drivers seat with the capacity rating. Older ones may have paper tag somewhere, though be aware that the new system measures with empty fresh water tank, and old with full.

if you work for Ford now then you should know that the best chases for a class C is the Ford F-450 with the V-10 gas engine. it is tried and true and almost bullet proof. why would you even consider a diesel. even doing your own work the filters are very expensive. plus fuel is 30 to 50 cents per gallon higher with no improvement in mileage. I have a friend who just bought a MB diesel used and a check engine light came on on his way home from the dealer and cant find anyone to even look at it. Good Luck. your will never find the perfect RV, well maybe after you have had 3 or 4 or more

We never had a problem getting our sprinter service at multiple Mercedes dealers around the country.

Over time we found our C even too small, cramped and not much of a load capacity (CCC) so we went with a DP Class A and much happier.

I guess it depends if you are around big cities or not. Friends of ours traveled in the western states and really had a couple serious issues and it cost them plenty to get towed to a dealer. I just looked at a few states with dealerships and Idaho has one; Montana has two; North Dakota has one; Colorado has five but all in the Denver area. That doesn't help when you break down far from them.

Ditto.. I have several Mercedes Sprinters built as ENG and satellite trucks scattered around the country, and we have no issues with service.
Having said that, there are two Sprinters; Mercedes & Dodge. I don't know the details on the differences but our earlier Dodge Sprinters had to go to Dodge
