Stink bugs!! Argh!

Enjoying some nice warm fall weather here in Northern Illinois, and my RV is swarmed by stink bugs!! I tried the natural solution (peppermint oil and some dawn) but they are persistent. They are in the doors, on the screens, in the awning arms, and probably in every vent by now.

Just venting. Can't go in or out of the RV without letting some in. Closed up the windows and put the A/C on lol. I know bugs are a part of nature, but these guys are getting to me.

I got into a moth hatch once - not as nasty as stink bugs but we had hundreds of them inside and every day for a week or so more would surface.

I grab them in a half paper towel and toss them out the door as fast as possible. They are tree beetles here, they burrow under the slide rubbers. 3 or 4 a day were getting in for awhile. Seems the days I would have no heat or air on and not home all day they weren't attracted to come in. Noise , vibration, I don't know, but more prevelent when I was around. Down to freezing at night here so bug season is waining fast.

If you think they're bad there, try Virginia in October!

I use on of these in the Rv building. Put it in the coach for a few days works well.

And northern South Carolina! We are flushing them down the toilet when we catch them inside.

Not only a pain, but a year or so later, they come crawling out of who knows where. We got some in our coach in North Carolina. A year later we would still find one walking around.

They don't do anything for the chili! Numbs the tongue, sort of.

Got 'em here in Upstate NY. Flushed two yesterday with probably more just waiting their turn in the next few weeks. I suspect that ours arrived after a mid October RV trip to Virginia a couple years ago since we didn't have them before. Just another gift from a Far East country we all know and ...

Yep, they are in full force up here. I'm sure we will be taking some to Florida next month. That's ok, it will give the two cats something to do besides laying around the coach all day. Its time for them to earn their keep.
