well i had Safelite Auto Glass come over and fix my windsheid yesterday. For only $ 95.00 they came right to the house, and wow what a great job. Can hardly see where it was. The tech told me everthing that he was doing step by step. They warranty there work for life. No need to get the insurance company involved. and they can fix cracks up to 6". And yes i would use them agian.

I also had Safelite replace our windshield. What a terrific company, they know the meaning of Customer Service.
We went down to the storage yard to pick up the 'bago yesterday and there was a crack halfway across the windshield, definitely not repairable! I called Progressive and they scheduled Safelite for the same day. The Safelite guy came out, (actually two techs came out) and replaced the thing in about an hour.
I wish more companies worked this way.
Now, I wonder how much my Progressive Insurance premium is going to go up at renewal........

I have full replacement on my policy. I never liked the repairs and all the techs I talked to have told me the full replacement is the way to go.

Hi All, Last year a stone chipped my New Windshield, I was ticked. Why couldn't it chip my old Windshield?
This is a one piece Huge Windshield. I have full non deductible glass thru Progressive. They offered a new one or I could have it repaired by Safelight. My one question was if I was not pleased with the result of the repair or deterioration of clarity would they then replace it. I was assured they would, I went with the replacement and it looks good.
Part of my decision was based upon all the leaking problems with Windshield replacement in general that have been reported. I also felt that I would wait until after a couple of long "stone chip prone" trips out West we plan to take.

Barrier are you sure you went with the replacement?

Anyhow If I get a chip I will run to the glass shop and pay the 50 or whatever dollars to fix it out of my pocket. We don't have insurance to protect us from the little things so I wouldn't screw up my relationship with the insurance company over a 50 dollar repair and it "will" go on your file.

I'm glad this thread was revived:

On or first trip we had a stone chip on the MH. While at Mayport, FL NS/NAS RV park, there was an RV'er that had an advertisement on his TOAD for glass repair. He repaired the stone chip and di a fantastic job. it's still not visible. I have a couple more and would hope to cross paths with him again, but - I don't have his name or email.

So, if you are listening, contact me. I just might head your way.

Hi All, Meant to say Repair.
I even proof read that post. I guess I will have to Proofread the Proofread!
It does sound kind of silly and confusing.
