Sumo Springs
I need to give everyone a heads up on my Sumo springs I had installed by a authorized shop.
Both sides has failed from the frame. I found this while cleaning my leveling jacks. It looks like to me they over tighten the bolts but the company is sending me new parts to install. And this time I will do the job when it is cooler outside. I am in Key West and heading to Miami then back to Ft Worth Tx. I will pick up some bolts for now to put them back in place. I did feel the ride change and blew it off.
This is what I get for not checking them more.

so no part of the sumo spring itself failed, just the bolts that hold it on ? I have recently installed sumo springs myself. I have the bump stop type, one bolt.

yeah, the front you screw in hand tight. the rear they just say snug but not to tight or it can bend the bracket. did the bolts snap in a way that now you have to drill or easy out, that wouldn't be fun.

I'm not the OP but I can feel the difference on my 31' class c with sumo front & rear. Although I still ordered Hellwig sway bars front & rear & roadmaster steering stabilizer, that I haven't installed yet.

I loved the ride with the sumo springs. The bolts heads sheared off and on some of the holes I need to knock the other part out.

I thought they were bump stops. Are they really springs, do they replace your leaf or coil springs?

My factory installed rear SS TOP mount fasteners had a similar issue. Tiffin said SS initially supplied them with underrated grade bolts. I had Tiffin warranty both F & R replacement of the SS.
Do use grade 8 fasteners torque to 40 ft lbs with blue or Red Loctite. Also if 3 bracket holes have not been drilled do so. For extra security you could double nut the fasteners.

They replace the bump stops and are a supplement to your springs. They improved the curve handling of my truck and reduced sag by one inch.

My new parts is waiting for me at home. Drilling the extra hole is a good idea. Thanks.

Definite problem with the oval bolt holes and bent bracket's. I requested Tiffin to send me new F & R kits when I had my issues.
What is the condition of the frame rail bolt holes ?

Way too weak of a bracket. I have a welder so I would do it myself but that bracket needs gussets from the top to the flanges on both sides.
IMO that looks like a cheep POS I would not install it in "as shipped" form.
