Since your Surge protector is 50 amp I assume your RV is. so to use a 30 amp outlet you will need an adapter..
Now, to answer your question Short answer: YES!
Longer: in fact it works BETTER that way. Not that you will likely notice.
Even longer answer:
The rules per Readdy Killowatt.
You have big loads, Medium loads and forget 'em loads
Big: A/C, Water heater, Microwave Some kitchen appliances (not many) and the converter if batteries are low
Medium, Fridge and most kitchen cooking appliances (Coffee pot, Skillet, Slow cooker or steamer).
Forget 'em.. TV, Sat receiver. Laptop comptuers
THe break: BIG 1,000+
Medum 150+
Small 100- (I will leave the remaingin 50 watts up to you)
20 amps: One big, plus forget'em's if batteries are full NO big till batteries fill.
30 amps 2 BIG once batteries are full. 1 till till then, if it's a good 30 the fridge may be used as well.
50 amps: all you can eat
