One look at the warrenty on them, home or rv, should tell you what the manufacturers think of them.

Our bought used 5th wheel has the Truma and I wasn’t sure how it would work out. We came from a motorhome with aqua hot so I liked the idea of continuing to have endless hot water but had concerns about LP usage, short cycling cold spots, wasted water…etc.

After a year and maybe 50-60 nights on trips I’m impressed. Because the water lines are so short in these RV’s we have hot water in 3-4 seconds. I cannot really tell on LP usage since we cook a lot, use the gen set and furnace on many trips. The cold sandwich is barely noticeable.

I’m happy and would want another Truma if we switched 5th wheels for how we use ours.

I have watched videos and tried adjusting water flow valve at back of unit and get same results. I am ready to pull out and go back to a tank style.
I have the same Girard GSWH-2 as you and hate the thing for all the same reasons. Our old unit had a 4 gallon heater, sure it would run out fast but it also recovered extremely fast. I've had the same thought about trying to switch back.
