Telescoping Ladder
Anyone use this ladder from Harbor Freight. If so what are your thoughts.

I have a similar one that is all the way open or nothing. Makes it much less useful than if it could be raised incrementally.

Don't go cheap when your safety is concerned. Why not get the very product it is compared to at very close to the same price. We have this one and it is VERY well made. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm strongly in Electrified's camp when it comes to safety. My brother-in-law went from driving F-16s and B767s to driving a wheelchair for the rest of his life because he went cheap on safety on a home improvement project!
I'm thinking of one of those telescoping ladders but it sure won't be from Harbor Freight!

I bought mine at Costco and it is rated for 300 lbs. each section opens separate and when extended I found it surprisingly comfortable. Not a lot of sag and felt solid, and I usually use industrial quality fibreglass ladders but they do not fit in MH .
Just what I use.

I had one once ( not from harbor freight). Worked good until I used it in a muddy environment. Didn’t telescopes in and out very good after that anymore. It’s about like a tape measure one you get dirt in it. I finally just threw it away.

Having had a really bad experience a few years ago, I strongly suggest you not come to ladders.
As for length, measure to the roof of your RV and buy a ladder a couple feet taller.

Years ago I read a post of a man using one and it collapsed with him near the top. That caused me to buy a Cosco 13' folding multi-ladder instead; I've used it more in stepladder configuration than extended straight.

In general, ladder safety guidelines I have seen require at least 3' above the height where it rests against the wall/ roof (so you have something to hold on to as you step off on to the roof). Also make sure you set it up on an angle of an arm length when your feet are touching the base of the ladder, this will effect the 3' above height guideline. Also have some way to anchor the top of the ladder to wall/roof (i.e. removable suction cups and rope) or have someone on the ground hold the ladder for stability, you don't want the legs to go walking away when you are on the ladder.

When looking at these ladders as a means to get on the roof, take note of the difference between extended length vs reach. This is similar to the one I bought.

I also carry a 7' folding double sided ladder. It folds to 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches, and fits easily in a storage bay.

A neighbor had one of those type ladders collapse on him. He was not hurt, but shaken up/
We use the following 3 section, extension ladder. It works great.
