Temporary sun shade

Do you ever put a tarp or sun sail above the roof of your RV to create shade while camping? Pics please.

TIA

No, but I have often toyed with the idea. The beige shade cloth let's air through but blocks the sun. It could be anchored from grommets to the ground and stuff beach balls or similar underneath to provide an air gap between the shade cover and the roof.

Beach balls is a neat idea, haven’t thought about that. I saw one guy use an extension paint pole for an antenna. That gave me an idea for using those on the corners of the rv to secure the corners of tarp or sail. Wrap the poles with pipe insulation or pool noodles to prevent damage.

Cadamsjr, thanks.
I attached a 2' piece of PVC to one of these handles with band clamps that we use as a temporary mast for a directional cellular antenna while parked in poor reception areas. If your RV has smooth sides these would also work for the shade fabric mounts at corners.

Sounds like a great idea, but really pricey, at least for our 40' MH!

Saw this solution in use in Southern California a while back. Looked like a lot of work to set up for short term use, but for longer term stays it would be great. The guy setting it up said it had changed their life when traveling the southwest.

Did he say how long it takes to set up and take down?

He said it took him an hour to put it in place, and a day or two of adjustments as wind direction, shifting etc got settled. He said he could do all but the last two hold downs from up on the roof. Last two and adjustments needed a ladder.

He did say the material is pretty heavy when rolled up. Said he kept it tied in a roll and hoisted with a rope the second time
