When we bought our coach, dealer made me sign a statement acknowledging that a class B exempt was required. Nice to deal with a dealership that tries to care of me

We have owned our Newmar Ventana 43 foot for over two years, we have put 15,000 miles on it through all types of terrain. I haven't had an accident of any kind for at least 30 years. I have not gotten the CDL, class B. What is the risk? A ticket, and then I have to get it within a certain period of time? How about insurance; there is nothing in my policy that says I have to have this license. Just wondering if I have to kill a couple days getting this done or just wing it.

You do not need a CDL. In Texas you get an Exempt Class B. You are not commercial. In Texas you are supposed to have proper license to operate a vehicle over 26000#.
As to do you need it? Does your insurance require you to be properly licensed your vehicle to be covered?
Not hard to get properly licensed. Why take the risk? We do have a friend that was stopped for something else and received a ticket for no driver license.
