Texas RV Insurance Rate Increase

I just received my RV renewal from State Farm and it went up 75% (ie: if it was $100 it is now $175). There haven’t been any claims and our driving records and still clean.

I called the agent to find our why and he said that as of this year Texas is insuring the RV's based on MSRP. My coach is about 10 years old so the MSRP is about twice what the KBB value is.

Has anyone else had their rates go up like this especially in Texas?

Truck stayed the same.

I'm in Houston, Harris County, and when I had GMAC my rates skyrocketed. I switched to Blue Sky and rates are more reasonable. Might try this guy at Blue Sky to get a quote. Jim Schecter 866-484-2583 ext 532
Good luck!
