X2....I am highly allergic to cigarrette smoke, both of my parents smoked as it seems everyone did in that generation. Ultimately smoking contributed to both their deaths. So I am one who also object to smokers second hand smoke drifting into others open space, MH's ect. Funny thing is alot of them will not smoke near their MH's but will smoke adjacent to others. I know that in our lifespan(hopefully) smoking will not be allowed in any form of public, it's almost there now....I'm sure I too will get ripped, OH well just an opinion, keep it in your own MH.

I wonder just how much space a non smoker needs? What about grilling or campfires or engine fumes? I want perfume and cologne outlawed! Don't forget the mosquito spray. How far apart is the average campsite? The parts per million at 20 feet away have to be near zilch. If your that allergic to smoke, I'm sure other things bother you much more. I would buy s big bubble that you can drive your motorhome into and camp in it. The fumes you breath in from the materials a motorhome is built with are most likely more toxic than second hand smoke. I love people that want to legislate things or people they don't like out of existence. Careful what you wish for.......it just may be you or your activity they go after next.

The downside of campsites....everyone is pretty close! And everyone is there to get away from noise, traffic and pollution! Tough accomplishment with so many rv peeps. Bottom line, if your needs are not providing enjoyment, solar panels and moving from that mode to boondocking is the answer!

Spoken like what I would expect from a smoker( don't know if you are or not)...I loved my Mom dearly but she continued to smoke even after she was put on oxygen, and the Dr's told her it was going to kill her. She said they didn't know what they were talking about. My sisters and I couldn't stop her from smoking.
I don't need to live in a bubble, but who is being the extremist here, all I was saying was to keep it in your own MH. You go off on all these tangents about cologne, BBq's, bug spray ect....Oh well to be expected most smokers are so defensive because they can't poison everyone as they poison themselves and they refer to that as "bad Legislation".
I think that when you have your windows open and it smells like you smoke in your MH, but it is second hand smoke, that is a little much. Or when you see the neighbor sitting at your picnic table in the morning smoking and you go out to talk to him and he says "my wife doesn't like me smoking in or near our MH"( true story)...that's just ignorance and I told him so, why would I want it if his wife doesn't...Next stupid answer "I thought you were still sleeping". I was until the smoke drifted in...I wonder if you'll have the same attitude when you camp next to someone who has even worse fumes floating thru your MH...Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Let's get back on topic and stick to opinions on it and not each other.
Thanks

I smoke and probably heavier than I should. I have never smoked in my house or around my children. I do smoke outside and if it bothers people try to be polite if I pick up on it and move. however if im outside and it bothers someone who wants to try to act stupid over it. which does happen Im doubling up whether I want to or not. wont ever kill smoking in public just wont happen. We have rights too. lol and I know people say smokers shouldn't force their habit on someone else, that works both ways. and the next response is well not smoking doesn't hurt you, well you have never seen me pissed off.lol seriously tho consideration for everyone and wel all would be happier

sorry to enlighten you, but there are cities that have ban, successfully, smoking within those city limits. more and more are doing it, and it will be coming soon to a city near you. its gaining momentum quickly.

#1. Cigarette tax's are over taxed to pay for this or that, Booze is the same thing don't ask about gas tax if you get everyone to quite smoking , drinking, driving?? where's that money going too come from, Your Bank account? We can't pay now for new hwy's, oyea did you miss that pothole that almost took off your 22.5 tire, wheel.
#2.I was brought up in the late 50's thru the 70dies., Went to church took my hat off in bldg.'s Raised by 2 Parents. First time I swore I got a teaspoon of Dish Soap. Swore at my mom, Got a Black eye. We had acres and acres of land to play in, ride our bikes (second hand for me). built fort's in the sand pits, I was outside playing from sun up to late afternoon, barefoot, (no expensive tennishoes )no computers, no fear of pedophile's, we didn't get a TV until I was maybe 6 or 7, didn't get to watch until after supper and my homework was done (no adding machines) Rarely heard of sex until Sex education in the 10th grade.
Kid's now adays have no idea what it is to be a kid, young adult.
My first car was $50.00, not 20-30 thousand. Yea my first job besides a paperboy was a bus boy @ $1.95 a hour. Been working since a paper boy at age 7-8 until early retirement @ 56 (not my choice).
Stepping off soap box...
JS & JMO,
Happy Holidays,
Tim

Back on target now: my problem is with CG owners or hosts that don't have the "What's For" to deal with problem campers and let them spoil the CG for the 99.9% of the rule abiding campers. Let live and let it roll off your back doesn't mean I have to carry your bad behavior on my back...! Just Saying...! Yeah I guess I'm not tolerant of the .01% nor do i want to be but, that's why there is birth control, or the Marines to get you in line..lol

Well, that's' easy. If the smoke does harm, and someone it could harm can smell it, they need more space. Simple math.
I smoke a pipe. Only in my car. If it bothers someone and they ask me to move, I just do. Not worth getting all upset about for any reason. I don't need any more enemies than I already have.
Rights? Hah. Show me where in the USCon.BoR it specifically addresses the right to smoke. I'll be right here when you find it so you can show it to me, remember to tell me which amendment it is so I can find it.
