I'm guessing if these prices hold or go up more it will make anything like the B class vans and anything else relatively economical even more sought after and the prices on them will remain high or go higher.

I would say without the pandemic cheap fuel and refineries making it up, war ect. Fuel would be more in $3.50-3.75 range right now. Need to compare more to that #. We all knew $2 wasn't gonna last. Cut budget on other stuff where you can and go unless it will really hurt you. I'll not be doing as many 35mph 30-50 mile runs in the speed boat this year at 2ish mpg even in sweet spot.

I figure that diesel will be at least $6.00 per gallon by then, and it will cost us about $700 just for fuel!

So it could cost you roughly $350 more than last year at most to cancel?

Cross Creek RV Park is one of the most expensive parks in the area. Yet you're complaining about the cost of the fuel to get there? Perhaps stay at a lower priced park? Don't eat out as much?

the fuel cost are the memories i will be remebering the most.
it is not that the fuel is worth so much, it is just that the money is worth so little

One trip to Vegas from Modesto, ca was $500 for a 480 mile trip.
I am done.
I can fly round trip from vegas to nashville with 10 days hotel and car for $1800.
If I drive it's $4000 just for gas.
You have to be preposterously wealthy to even consider long trips in an RV right now.

Just returned from a trip to Texas from California cost $1743.00 in diesel alone, was it worth it, yes, but it will be a while before I make a long trip like this again. To me the drive is the journey I enjoy, flying and staying in a hotel may be cheaper but the memories and experiences are well worth the extra cash to me. Hopefully prices will come back down but I'm not holding my breath.

You have 4 months before your trip so a suggestion would to be set aside some money each week for gas. We just got back from a 1,400 mile trip and spent almost $700 on gas. It hurts, but as others have said life is short and if you can make it work then go.

We are in the midst of a 7,000 mile Spring/Summer trek. We will use 1,000 gallons of diesel. The difference is real money compared to a year ago. But as full-timers this it is the cost of living the lifestyle.

I'd go for it. And at the risk of being a vulture, where near Maggies Valley. We were thinking of heading that way in October, but not the entire month
. Maybe a week or so.

We have reservations for the month of October in Sevierville, TN. We’re driving from Midland, Texas so will be a little over 1,200 miles one way. We aren’t changing our plans.. we reserved and paid for our spot last October and love riding our trikes in that area every fall. Two years ago on a routine scan I was diagnosed with cancer and everything in our lives got put on hold for nearly 2 years. I’m currently in remission but I live scan to scan which is every three months. Don’t let fuel costs keep you from enjoying life to the fullest because it can change in the blink of an eye.

Western NC, about 30 miles from Ashville, right next to Waynesville.
