This book
The RVer's Ultimate Survival Guide Paperback – Unabridged, January 1, 2016
by Neil W. Lekander (Author)
Any recommendations on this book? Helpful? Waste of money? I realize those who have years of experience in the rv world will have a different opinion than someone who is less seasoned...

U-tube will tell you anything you need to know and there will likely be a video specific to whatever brand & model number of item that you are trying to fix. You can download service manuals for all your appliances from the manufacturer's web site.

What can it hurt. For $20, it will probably offer a good baseline to start someone’s knowledge curve.

Check out irv2.com forum, you will get answers to almost anything there!
Oh, wait, this is it!
I guess that book must be the paper version of irv2!

I would recommend it for you. Yes, you can go on YouTube, etc for many "How To" videos but the book would have a lot of information in one place for leisure reading. (I still like paper maps.) It's not just "how to fix a toilet" type of book. For $20 I would purchase it.

AS a newbie..........YES for $20 you can have information right at hand
Utube.........hit miss on the accuracy of the information and not everyone can be a Utube star presenting information
YES.....you can also download 'RV Vendor Component Service Manuals'

Where I prefer to camp, there ain't no youtube, ain't no downloading from the interwebz, ain't no IRV2.com. I can think of a time or 2 that having a handy-dandy repair guide book might have saved me a few hours of headache trying to diagnose an issue.
This book could be a "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" item.

I try to have manuals on phone and paper. Wiring diagram is worth it's weight in gold. But not everyone has same knowledge. An explanation of safeties to be made for appliances to operation order ect could be valuable. Even if just translates better than manuals. If it saves you an hour, or softer learning curve it's worth it. Give me a book to find every odd little part and it's secret trade name and other parts faster..... that's a book I'll buy lol.

Actually, gave this to my sister and brother in law - newbies to RV's, and they loved it. I think it is a good primer.
