I joined 1000 Trails in October and paid my 2008 dues a month later. The first week of January I got another bill for 08 (different amount). When I asked 1000 Trails about why the double bills I was told I was paid up for 08 and ignore the bill. Just got another bill. While I am enjoying 1000 Trails and will not be able to afford to take my RV out at this billing rate Anyone else having issues like this with 1000 Trails?

Derek, thanks. My bills are different amounts. It appears that the entry level person answering the phone at TT is someone that just walked in off the street that day. I predict more pain before it gets right

Bruce, I agree that you probably will experience much more pain before you gat total satisfavtion. I am fighting with them now where in addition to my '08 bill they claim I have an outstandig amount from'07. We are on the road and they keep leavimng inadible msgs. on our home phone. I say inaudible as there is either kids chattering in the background or a loud TV playing while the woman is leaving a msg. for me.
If you go to their website they are quite proud of the fact that they have outsourced all of their billing and collection matters to Equity Financial Services. That is exactly what we need yet another outsourcing. Me thinks outsourcing will only get better when we start outsourcing politicians....Ken, '04 DSDP...

I am an Outdoor World member, just recently purchased by 1000 trails, and they overbilled me my 2008 member dues that are not supposed to increase. When I asked about transfer fees because I am considering selling my membership, they are going to double the annual dues for the new owners. I am glad they think they can purchase another organization and just change the terms of existing member contracts on a whim. My opinion is that 1000 Trails is a horable organization and only concerned with making money with no regard to member services or satisfaction. They have absolutely lost my buisness. I will say I have been impressed with their facilities and services at the preserves, but corporate managment has put a sour taste in my mouth.

Rick, I would guess Hershey is your home park ?
Just stick it out and hassle with the bill collectors, make it sort of a game and enjoy it, I do. I keep good records and have never ever paid them more then their due

Since we are Outdoor World members we do not have access to TT parks. My issue extends beyond their billing issues. TT has changed operating schedules of the Outdoor World parks and the ammenities offered at the parks which has greatly compromised the way we used our membership. I emailed them once to express my concerns and it took them over a month to respond and it was a blanket response that did not even come close to addressing my concerns. Not so much as an explenation or even an attempt at an excuse to try and justify the changes. The message came across loud and clear that they do not care about me as a cutomer.

Some follow-up on this double billing issue....
1000 Trails switched their billing process to a new 3rd party and of course they had some big glitches in the change-over. With the new system everything can be done on-line now, which helps us fulltimers -- we haven't had any problems.
I noticed that billing issues can be handled on-line now(automated email) or in writing to:
Equiant Financial Services Inc.
Attn: Collections/Dispute Department
4343 N SCOTTSDALE RD SUITE 270
SCOTTSDALE, AZ 85251-3352
If you have complaints about what's going on, I've found that one-on-one with the park manager will usually get you the answers, if not they can give you the name and phone number of the director/vp level.
