Hi ALL: YaHoooo, it's March and the ol travel bug is starting to wake up. After sitting kinda tight all winter it's time to pour a cup of coffee, set up the lawn chair, pull out the Road Atlas, and check out routes, and places to see this upcoming summer travel season. It's ALMOST as much fun as actually hittin the road don't ya think? Was just wondering where all of you were planning to explore this summer?? We're wintering here in the cool high desert around Benson, AZ, and plan to migrate North to see the Grand Canyon when the weather permits. Then it'll be East and North through SantaFe, Colorado Springs, Wyoming and on over to the Black Hills for awhile before visiting family in Mitchell, SD, and later up to Duluth, MN. Can't wait to wake up to those Meadowlarks singing their hearts out on the phone wires outside the sister-in-law's home on the prairie above Milltown, South Dakota on a sparkling sunlit summer morning. It's REALLY something!! Thought it might be fun to hear what draws you this summer. Let's hear about it..eh? Have a GREAT summer...it's gettin close. Steve & Lynette

We're currently at Bottomless Lake State Park southeast of Roswell, NM...we bought an annual camping permit last May and have spent time since then visiting NMs state parks.

Since the majority of our family is in the Northwest, that meant that we didn't get to see them last year, so this year, we'll head up there...Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. We'll probably start heading north around the end of this month or the first part of April, depending on the weather.

You both have fun and safety in your travels. Sounds like you got your plans laid out. We had planned on being in Arkansas right about now and working but due to health and medical reasons we are stuck in utah for another two months before we can hit the road again.

Lee & Fran: From the looks of the weather in Arkansas, it's a good thing ya had to delay moving over that direction. Hope things healthwise are going o.k.

Linda: We love that part of the country you're headed toward. Just came down through there on return from summer in Alaska. We really like the Sand Point area, Levinworth, and ofcourse the Olympic Penninsula. Have a great summer!

Steve & Lynette: My husband grew up in the little town of Bothell, WA, on the other side of Lake Washington from Seattle (well, it was little then...around 900 people...it's now something like 70,000 people).

We used to go backpacking around the Leavenworth area when we lived in Kirkland, and took vacations on Lake Pend Oreille when we lived in Spokane.

With the exception of my two sisters, who live elsewhere, all of my family and Earl's family live in the Northwest.
