One thing I forgot to mention in my post above, the tire manufacturers also warn against using products that contain silicon on their tires. I had to print out the warning from the Michelin website to win an argument with the maintenance people at a Florida Newmar dealer. When I gave them a copy, the guy just grunted and walked away.

Maybe you should have used "low fat"?

I have used 303 on my tires for years for the same reason that were given in the above posts.

As you know Bob I am freak about my tires and wheels.

Last year ran across DuPont Teflon Tire Shine and really love the stuff. Holds up pretty good even in rain.

Don't forget Magic Mix for those wheels!

I agree the DuPont Teflon Tire Shine is good stuff. Cheaper than 303, too!

I'll use it occasionally but usually I'm too lazy to make a habit of it.

I use Griot's Rubber Cleaner to clean the tires. Then I use Griot's Weatherproof Tire Dressing to dress the tires. The products last. Tires need to be dressed about every 3 months. And that's considering I am very critical on how my tires look. The tires have a solid dull black satin type look. I think of it a understated elegance.
