Tire Question
I could not find a thread about this. If there is one I’m sry for starting this one.
We just purchased our 2006 Georgie Boy Pursuit, it only had 11000 miles on it. Well we are out on our first small trip and I decided to look at the info on the tires. They all looked new so I didn’t bother to do it when purchasing ( my mistake). Well the tires are 0206. So they are over 12yrs old. What would be your all’s recommendation on life of tires? I have heard 5 years, and 10 years. I’m just at a loss right now since we put a good bit down and now supposedly need new tires. Thank you for any help

At 12 years your probably near the end of life for the tire. Now if they were maintained properly you may get a bit more out of them. Take the MH to a tire dealer and have them inspected. It's the only way to be reasonably sure.

That would be too old for me. I like to replace mine every 5-7 years. Even if they look brand new. Safety is my number one concern.

I've had Michelin's blow after 4 years in a harsh environment but only 19000 miles.
How much risk you willing to take? I'd change them or at least have a good tire shop check them for cracking.

According to some discussions, if you run 1 day past 7 years, you shall surely die. I agree! It probably won't be immediately from a blow out but at some point it will happen.
Stop and have them inspected and go from there. Maybe consider if you can replacing the front.

At 7 years I start looking for new tires. 12 years is way too old - especially since you don't know how they have been maintained.
Aside from the safety and inconvenience issues of a tire failure there is the expensive damage that can occur to the coach when a tire lets go.
You need new tires. ASAP. IMHO.

I’m in the same boat, I mean Motor home.
Mine is staying parked till I get new tires.
Was recommended to check out Cooper Roadmasters.
Several tire suppliers have had praise for these. Very reasonable prices.
It is the tires I’m getting. Mine are 19.5 inches.
