To where is your big trip planned this year

I was wondering where everyone might be planning a trip to this year and from where? You could also include planned stops along the way and what you want to see or visit. Unfortunately my only big trip will be to a family reunion in October from here in Chattanooga, Tn to Fayetteville, NC.

From South Florida to Los Angeles, California. This will be the Gkids first trip to the West coast. We will end up in Goshen, Indiana for the annual Newmar rally, the first week in August. Some of the places we will visit are:
Alamo
Carlsbad Caverns
Whits Sands
Gila Cliff Dwellings
Saguaro National Park
Tombstone
Joshua Tree National Park
Queen Mary
Amboy Crater
Death Valley
Las Vegas
Hoover Dam
Grand Canyon
Meteor Crater
Petrified Forest
Monument Valley
Mesa Verde
Arches National Park
Dinosaur National Monument
Rocky Mountain National Park

Then it is get the Gkids back home just before school starts in mid August. After that it's the wife and I off again, just the two of us. Probably return to the northern Indiana and Michigan area for the fall. This trip will end up where ever the Region 5 Newmar rally will be held. Then it's back to South Florida for the winter NKK camping season.

For those with Newmar coaches (or a friend who has a Newmar coach) look in the NKK event section of the Newmar owners forum. In December, the Manatee and Sea Turtle chapters are having a back to back rally in the Keys. This is a buddy rally. Yours truly is co-hosting. A Newmar product owner can bring a buddy who does not own a Newmar product. More will be posted in August/Sept. The bottom line is a week of camping at mile marker 39 for $30/night! Now that is a deal worth considering.

We're traveling in Idaho this summer/fall...DH got a non-resident fishing license (ouch!) so we'll be hitting some of the fishing spots in the state, mainly along the rivers. We have no place in particular that we're going to be at any particular time (we travel without reservations, going where the wind blows us), except that we will be in Stanley to meet up with family for 5 days or so in July.

We are in the middle of our big trip. We left Utah and headed south to Flagstaff, AZ. Then into Sedona,AZ. From there we continued south to I-10 and then headed East. Three days to get through Texas into Louisana, Mississippi and the panhandle of Florida. Then north on I-95 through South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Into Virginia to visit some old friends and off to Pennsylvania. On up to Rochester New York tomorrow and then start heading West.
We are figuring out where we go....as we go. No specific destination. We do plan to visit Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument and then to Yellowstone. And then home to fix all the loose hardware and repair anything else.

We're pulling out Tuesday for a couple weeks, heading up to the iRV2 National Rally in Ohio and will spend about 3 nights in West Virginia on the way up to visit family.

Next month we're heading up to DC area for about a week and then at the end of the month over to Knoxville, TN for about a week or so. At the end of September we'll head up to IL for the HitchHikers of America National Rally.

We're leaving Southwest Missouri on Thursday (11th) with our two youngest grandsons for three+ weeks. Going to let the grandsons explore Wall Drug in Wall, Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Yellowstone NP, Glacier NP, Big Horn Days & Little Big Horn Battlefield, then on to the FMA Rally in Gillette and our final stop, Mt. Rushmore.

Well we had it planned to attend a family reunion in Idaho on the 20th and 21st of June than onto South Dakota for a couple of weeks of site seeing and also to get drivers licenses. Than south to Missouri to visit kin folk and while in that part of the world figured to visit Branson again. Than back thru Kansas to Colorado and see more kin folk than back to Utah until after Thanksgiving. Figure to be on the road for 6 weeks to 2 months. Figure to do some camping and fishing around Utah for the months of Sept and Oct. May have to adjust our plans from Utah to the reunion and back to Utah while we wait for our tow dolly to be repaired.

1st To the newly reopened Indian Springs near American Falls, Idaho. This park isn't listed anywhere but we use to go there all the time and it is under new ownership, has lots of room, big swimming pool and hot springs. We'll be there in June. It's still being worked on but seems to be in good shape anyway.

2nd to Big River RV Park in CA, near Parker, AZ for Feb., March of '10.

Just got back from Lake of the Ozarks in MO.

We spent the end of DEC., Jan, Feb, and March going from Ca thru Az, NM, TX, La, Ms, Al, Fl, Ga, SC, AR, and back to Ca. Most of the time was spent in Florida from Pensacola to the Keys and then up the Atlantic coast. We really enjoyed Savannah Ga and Charleston SC.
Having said that our next venture will be the coast of Ca. from early July until the end of August. Most likely the areas from San Diego up to Ft. Bragg. I don't have it planned completely. We will start in Pismo Beach and head south then reverse our direction and head North.

Reading the above posts if you get into New Mexico Bandalier National Park near Santa Fe and Los Alamos is great for seeing early Indian artifacts. Takes a couple of hours to walk the valley.

We're off the VA and NC from 6/28 to 7/4. No set plans but we'll visit Williamsburg and trying to arrange a client meeting in Research Triangle.

On 7/11, take the MH with two of the boys and a friend to the Keys for a Boy Scout trip at Seabase. Meeting 28 other Scouts down there who are flying. Will probably stop at Kennedy Space Center on the way down. Maybe Orlando on the way back. Be back sometime around 7/28.

DW has no interest in Scout trips so she is touring New England quilt shops with a friend while the boys are in Florida.

We are off to Mt. Rushmore in early July and then to the Home Coming Rally for American Coach in Decatur mid July. After that it’s to Southern Ontario for some family visits and a wedding then back to the north in late August.
