Too short for a “luxury” RV resort?
I’m planning a tour of the NW this summer and found a fantastic looking luxury RV resort near Boise, ID. I enthusiastically sent a contact form asking about availability…and was told Flatnose Frank, at 25.5’, is too short!? They don’t let rigs under 31’ in.
Is a size limit common? Why?

First time I've heard of a size limit, but suspect there are other similar examples. Age and RV type limits are pretty common. Some parks only accept newer Class As for example. They want a certain type of client. You might call it a form of discrimination. Many people suffer from discrimination frequently. It's a private park and they make the rules. If you don't like it, move on to the next park.

There are many reasons some resorts have specific criteria for the demographic they wish to cater to. Many businesses do it. Ever tried to get your Ford repaired at a Chevrolet dealership? Some may call it discrimination but there is nothing inherently evil about discrimination. It's what you do every time you decide to eat at McDonald's intead of Burger King.

What is the rationale for a minimum length limit? An age limit or Class restriction, whether or not I agree, I can at least see what they're trying to do. One can have a very nice, expensive, unit that is less than 31' or even 24'. Some Class B units even are quite nice.

Our resort used to be 25’ and now it’s 29’. We are a class A or C only park, but I think some of the owners don’t like the sprinter or RV America rentals staying here. I don’t understand why and it’s a rule they changed recently that we don’t agree with.
The place is usually packed on holiday weekends, but I bet it’s only at 50-60% capacity and it’s been a fantastic weather weekend.

Our resort is class A only, 32 feet minimum, Anything over 12 years old needs approval. There are plenty of 15 to 20+ year old rigs here, but they are all well cared for and look great. Who wants cousin Eddy next door?

Maybe no rationale. I doubt expense has anything to do with it and in most cases I've seen they usually have an age limit in addition to a length minimum. I've also seen several parks that will only accept fully self contained units too.
Many of the parks we go to are class A only and usually have a minimum length (usually around 30') and maximum age requirement (usually around 10). I've never seen a park with a minimum RV value requirement.

I guess in the end size does matter. Maybe you could put a 6 foot pole horizontally out of the hitch. That should put you a right at 31.5 feet.
They do seem a little preoccupied with size. Have someone else call back for your reservations and when they get to the size questions you could ask to at least buy dinner first.
Or you could just answer "I've never had any complaints."
Seems to me that size should matter a lot more to you and your partner than it should to them.

Lots do not wanted lower cost rigs. No big loss for you. You will find many people look down on smaller class As and super Cs. I find it funny because most super Cs cost more than a large part of the Class A rigs in these parks. Been in plenty of resorts and got tired of the people I met in them. Many places where you will meet friendly people. Safe travels
Enjoy the journey

The answer to your question is "No"
However your statement "found a fantastic looking luxury RV resort" may be the reason why.
We would not qualify for this resort with our 2019 Winnebago 29ve, but I would not sweat it and move on. In part, because I can't tell you how may RV Parks we have passed on when we actually eyeballed the place. Many have obvious and blatant violations of their own posted rules. Best of analogy I can think of, is that I also own a Harley; but I don't feel safe in every Biker bar.
I know reservations in advanced reign supreme, but we tend to fudge that a lot unless we know the place. I believe in live and let live; but I don't want to be wedged in between two Cousins Eddies who have the rights to do what they wish to do, or across the street from the owners who swears their Rottweilers won't bite anyone. Some freedom of liberties can and do impose on others, and it some cases they may be indirect intimidation.
With all that said, I have never pulled up into any RV Park with capacity available wishing to make a reservation where we were turned away. It is usually the other way around for us.

This happen to my neighbor who own's a 25' Tiffin MB motorhome. We were planning a trip together staying a couple on nights in one of the resorts that I have stayed in before. He called to make a reservation and they told him is unit was too short. What I find funny is his unit almost cost him double what it cost me for my 5th wheel new.

Speaking of discriminating different RV's sizes and types, back when I had my brand new Duramax and a nice new Lance truck camper on it, I was turned down quite often. They would say we don't allow Truck Campers at our RV resort...
