Too short to open the roof vent

We have a 2011 octane toy hauler. The roof vent handles as small knobs that I can’t reach. When you take the handle off it just a graduated tube that presses in and a small screw to fasten it tight. Does anyone know of an extension with some kind of crank handle that fits on this? I only need to drop it down another 3” thanks!

There are a couple of different ones out there. SureReach and VentStik seem to be everywhere, but there are more out there. Amazon has a bunch.

On a previous 5th wheel I made up a 3/4" dowel and a piece of wood from my kindling pile of odd short pieces screwed on the end that captured the handle. Worked just fine and the cost was the price of that dowel (couple dollars) and a few minutes assembly time.

I notched the end of a 3' length of 3/4" PVC pipe to fit the knob, now DW can open/close them easily.

Get a MaxxFan with remote. Much better fan and venting and no issues reaching it.

DW uses the "grabber" I was given to pick things up off the floor after surgery.

Maybe a friend has one you can have.

Yes, but my pipe cost $3, how much is the remote-control fan?

Not the same solution, but this is what we use. It gets used all the time with high kitchen cabinets.

That's not the cheapest solution, but it's the best! I've installed one in our bathroom so the DW can operate it, and I'm thinking about replacing the cheapo fan in the galley area. Those MaxxFans can really help with ventilating by either pulling air out or blowing cooler air in!
