I came accross this article & althought I've had insurance claims, I didn't experience any of these. I did have a tire blow out and some damage - but that's another story and I didn't file an insurance claim.

Link to article is HERE.

Have you made any claims? What are they?

I've had claims for a windshield chip repair and a windshield replaced (one side only). Both were caused by flying stones, one in Alaska and the other on I15 in Montana.

At the first IRV2 National Rally.....in our 3 month old Cardinal 5th wheel.....a mild Mytrle Beach zeypher blew thru.... and dumped 6 inches of rain. Before I could get outside to roll up the awning...it had filled and ripped itself off the RV!
Called insurance company and they cut me a check on the spot. They had a crew in the park and had the awning replaced in less time than it would have taken me to hitch up and find the local Camping World.

In April of 2001 on our way to Florida had our 9 month old Cedar Creek Totaled after being rear ended by a semi on I95 In Jacksonville. That was when we learned the hard way not to have or RV insured by our auto insurance company. We took a real beating on that one.

Over our years we have had a MH totaled by a trash truck smashing it while we were not in it. Additionally we have had hail damage and a MH totaled from a fire that started in the engine area while going down the freeway (cause never determined).

Only RV insurance claim in 12 years of owning RV's was a hail claim to a popup we used to have (parked at house, not open at the time). State Farm came thru with flying colors.
