Trading in a hot water tank for a tankless

For those of you who have abandoned your hot water tank and installed an on-demand tankless water heater, and had it all done by an RV shop - what was the total parts/labor cost and how happy are you with the results?

I've wondered the same thing, from time to time. I'll be following along here to learn more. Is there no (or low) maintenance on a tankless unit? I like to do as much work on the rv myself (as much as possible). I haven't been to YouTube University on this subject, yet, but what is the difficulty level for installation?
