Trailer axle weight ratings vs trailer weight
Am I missing something. Looking at a Jayco Seismic 3512 and the numbers don't add up. The GVWR is greater than the the combined GAWR. Is pin weight subtracted out there somewhere to make this work? Thanks for replies!

The pin weight sits either on the pin/truck or on the front landing legs.

My TT is the same. GVWR is ~700 lbs more than the the total axle ratings. They assume you'll carry enough on the tongue / pin to keep from overloading the axles.
This is one of my pet peaves with the industry cheeping out. For my TT, the next step up in axle capacity is only about $75 per axle RETAIL price (springs and hangers are the same price). So they saved what, probably $100-$150 in production costs on my TT!
Instead they built my TT so that the axles are near capacity quite often. Not great for tire wear and axle longevity.

Federal law re the weight & tire placard data stipulates that the GVWR may exceed the combined GAWRs by up to 10% for a travel trailer and up to 20% for a fifth wheel trailer. In other words, the the tongue or in weight can be included in the GVWR. Just about every trailer RV I've ever looked at exploited that to the max.

Then the owner adds "stuff" inside that causes even more pin/hitch weight, and never bothers to obtain new actual weights so they may determine if their tow vehicle is now overloaded.

The exception may be Northwood Mfg. and their products. My TT has two 5500# axles on a trailer maxed at 10K, giving me a comfortable margin considering a tongue weight of over 700#.
On our last trip we loaded heavy to minimize stops during the pandemic and never got close to 10K.

My Grand Design Momentum Toy hauler has three 7K axles....and the trailer GVWR is 20,000 lb. The tire load capacity is at 24,480 lbs and the trailer is ~18,500 lbs, depending on how I load it. Pin weight is right at 3800 lbs, so if you deduct that from the the trailer total weight, the weight on the axles is about 14,700 lbs...or 6300 lbs of reserve on the axles and about almost 9800 lbs of reserve on the tires....or 1630 lb per tire. Of course all of this is kind of a moot point since the GVWR of the trailer is 20K.
