Does anyone know anything about TV signal boosters for RVs? The reason I am asking is because I have designed a High Gain antenna for RVs that replaces batwings. My question is this...I know that the batwings have a circuit board in the head as well as in the booster. The new antenna heads uses a matching tranformer (balun). On some of the installs I have done, the light on the booster does not light up but does on others, and the antenna works great. Is the light just there to let you know that it is on?

Daryl, welcome to IRV2 glad to have you aboard.
As far as I know the led is just an indicator that its on. Never had a problem with it other than a snowy pic if its off so amp is off.
If you post down in the RV SYS AND TECH SECTION of forum you may get a answer also. Lot of people that know more on this than I. welcome again and enjoy the forums. "007"

The light is there to tell you that it's on. You say you've done several installs. Have you ever measured your signal strength before/after an install? If the light's not on, I'd say there a good chance your booster isn't either. Maybe you just happen to be in a place with a strong signal. Have you ever bypassed the booster on one where the light wasn't on to see if the signal is worse without it? Do you have 12 volts at the board when the lights not on?
