Use of trailer bathroom at Travel Centers

My question may be a little indelicate but I thought if I was going to get an answer it would be here.

Just taken delivery of our first travel trailer and my wife has a question. She hates using the restrooms in travel centres and wants to know if other like minded women use their own facilities when their husbands are pumping gas.

I don't see a problem with that at all. She is using her own facilities and not depositing anything on the parking lot. We traveled with a friend who has a fifth wheel and they would have to stop occasionally at large parking lots, rest areas, etc for them to use their trailer facilities.

Yes, that and sandwhich breaks are key benefits of dragging a RV around. Check whatever you’re going to buy with slides in for fridge and potty access

Why not? It is your trailer and I don't blame her especially in these times.

While I have a motor home if I had to stop every time she needed the restroom it would triple our travel time.

Motorhome here, but that is all DW does. Before COVID I would typically go inside the store. Not now.

As long as you can get to the bathroom “P” away. Make sure water pump is on, and you have onboard water.

That’s one of the perks to having your home on the road with you. No issues with using the facilities, in fact it’s safer for your family in more ways than COVID. Just remember to lock the doors when you travel and lick them when you’re inside.
I don’t mean to make you paranoid but just be safe.

I recommend that you not lick the door

I drag a bathroom with me, I'm using it.

I rarely use public or campground restrooms, probably won't at all any more.

When I was painting my boat bottom, for launch, in a storage yard, I used their shower. Sold the boat.

I've even used my trailer's bathroom while parked in traffic when the road was closed to clear up a wreck.

I have contemplated installing a seatbelt on the commode for the DW to use while the coach is in motion.
Haven't gotten brave enough yet to ask her if I should.

We always use our RV to the fullest when travelling. Nice lookouts while at our dinette for lunch are a bonus. We usually carry 1/3 tank of fresh water on board for whatever without causing unnecessary weight of more.
And....in case the weather is really crappy when we arrive for the night, we’re still good until the gods lessen up.

Was there a lineup from others around you?
