Used 2008 Doubletree 5th Whl advise

So a guy I use to work with bought a 2008 Double Tree Select Suite RS3 5th wheel probably in 2010. He passed away a few years later and his wife is interested in selling it. I went thru it (in 2018) and liked it, but felt at the time she was asking a little too much ($39.5K).
Its in great shape and I'm sure well taken care of.
Now it's 2021 and I still see it parked in her yard, I know it hasn't moved since I looked at it last, and I'm sure probably 2-3 years before that.

My wife and I are getting very close to making a purchase (hopefully at the Hershey 2021 Show, if it's on this year) but I keep going back to the used one she has, because I know or think I know that is a well made, hardly used, haven't been pulled much trailer. But I do know, the tires are probably original, so 4 new tires are 6-$800 range. Any other issues that come up will be out of my pocket (example 1 of the 2 AC's go bad) Frig takes a crap.

I still have to buy a truck to pull whatever I buy, also wondered if anyone uses the Chevy 3.0 straight 6 diesel. Is the Chevy HD2500 6 ltr diesel the way to go when spending the money?

So any advise on the trailer, anyone have any knowledge of these brands and would 30K be a decent price for both of us?

I had a travel trailer for a number of years so I'm not totally stupid to a trailer, but never a 5th wheel or diesel truck.

Here is a much older video to the exact trailer, not hers but someone else's post on youtube.

2008 Double Tree Select Suite 36RS3 going for roughly $22K
(Can't find info on Select Suite RES??)

Well built 5vrs

New comes with warranty AND Huge drop in 'value' upon purchase
New RVs have issues......warranty comes BUT rig spends MONTHS in Dealership and then still have issues
Once warranty is over you are on your own

Good high quality USED unit ---smaller price to begin, depreciation hit less, issues typically have been addressed and savings between Used/New pricing can be used as 'repair/maintenance' funding

Is the Registration on that Double Tree current??

I'd favor the Doubletree if the price is right and the condition acceptable, but I'm a firm believer in quality used vehicles vs new ones. For the reasons Bisquit cited as well as more bang for my buck.

You will probably get a bunch of cautions about obscure but potential problems, but at the end of the day you go look and make a call on condition. Mentally estimate how much dollars might be needed for known and unknown repairs and make an offer.

You might want to check the price of this one for comparison!
